Taliban Condemns Prince Harry's Statement
The Taliban in Afghanistan called Prince Harry a coward in connection with his comments while on duty in Afghanistan.
A Taliban spokesman told the British newspaper the Daily Telegraph, the British royal family members comment was condescending and shows a lack of knowledge and understanding of the situation in Afghanistan.
In a series of interviews at the British base at Camp Bastion, Prince Harry among others equate his duties as co-pilot and gunner helicopter gunships with computer games, which he controlled.
"It is a pleasure for me because I am one who likes to play PlayStation and Xbox. So, with the thumb, I like to think I might be useful," he said in an interview to mark the end of a 20-week assignment in Afghanistan.
Activists Denounced
Prince Harry's comments also drew criticism from the anti-war activists in Britain.
Lindsey German of the Stop the War Coalition questioned how Prince Harry could be sure that people that he killed were Taliban fighters.
"In recent months, many civilians were killed by air strikes. Comments that are arrogant and insensitive attitude in killing Afghans, whoever he is, and it is hard to get sympathy and support, which is the goal of this war," said Lindsey German told the PA.
Lindsey German Prince Harry also compare the situation with other soldiers who may be at risk of unemployment.
"Prince Harry back to life an ideal and luxurious, unlike most of the soldiers who face unemployment, austerity budgets, and social problems."
